Chemical class: Insecticide,

 

Description: pale-to-dark brown liquid, Melting Point 120°C, Vapour Pressure: 0.097 mPa, Stability: 40mg/l at 25°C, miscible with ethanol, acetone, xylene, soluble in petroleum oils.

 

Function: Diazinon kills insects by inhibiting , an necessary for proper function. Diazinon has a low persistence in soil. The half-life is 2 to 6 weeks.

 

Controlling spectrum: For soil insects (by soil application); phorid and sciarid flies in mushroom cultivation; flies, lice, mites, fleas, cockroaches, bedbugs, ants, and other insect pests in animal houses and household use. Also used as seed treatment for maize, for control of frit flies and also conferring bird-repellent properties. Also used as a veterinary ectoparasiticide.
